Arose Arisen : The Origin

I spent over a decade in the fashion industry, from catwalk and high-end luxury to managing print and embellishment at a high-end high street brand.

For as long as I can remember I've loved the craft of fashion- watching something beautiful come to life. But working in the industry, I was always slightly removed from the process of actually making the pieces. And I saw how much waste we were creating, season after season, more product than we needed, some of it never making it to stores, some never even leaving the stockroom. Was this really still the right model, in an industry that produces so much more than it needs to?

Arose Arisen came from wanting to get closer to it all again, without the guilt of over-creating. Back to a single garment, one pair of hands, start to finish.

Every piece starts with fabric that already has a life behind it. An old tablecloth, a curtain, a scarf that would otherwise sit unused. Each garment is one-off, because the fabric only allows it to be.

It's what happens when someone who's seen both the luxury and high street sides of the industry decides to make things the way they actually believe they should be made.
